Welcome to the 13th District - The American Legion Thirteenth District, Department of Illinois is one of 25 Districts that call Illinois home. Geographically we encompass most of Northwest Illinois with 42 Posts in Carroll County, Jo Daviess County, Lee County, Ogle County, Stephenson County and Whiteside County and three main groups makeup what we call the Legion Family. The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion. While we strive to work as a family, each supporting the activities and programs of the others, each is in fact a separate entity with its own Charter, By-Laws and governing rules.




Generally Speaking: We work to support Active Duty personnel, Veterans of all branches, the education and well being of children and our community at large. Emphasis is placed on the importance of responsible citizenship. Interested in joining us?
