The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veterans organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is a not-for-profit community-service organization which now numbers nearly 3 million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide.
Legion Programs
American Legion programs are the cornerstone of our organization. From American Legion Baseball, Boys State/Nation, Junior Shooting Sports, National Oratorical Contest and Scouting to one of the newest additions to our programs, Legion Riders, information and featured publications are the focus. Additionally, provisions to donate to various programs of the Legion are available.
